Direct Energy Designates Day for Employees to Give Back

HOUSTON, Nov. 13, 2017

"One of Direct Energy's core values is caring, and what better way to promote that value than by empowering our employees to care for their communities," said Manu Asthana, president, Direct Energy Home. "Direct Energy and our parent company, Centrica, are proud to have provided more than $500,000 in financial assistance and programs to support our customers and employees who were impacted by the recent hurricanes. We are taking a break from the work day to give back this November and embody the spirit of the holiday season."

Direct Energy has set a goal to volunteer 10,000 hours before the end of the year across all the offices. In Houston, Direct Energy's headquarters, the specific Day of Caring will be held on Friday, November 17. Employees will venture outside of the office to volunteer at local Houston nonprofits such as the Houston Food Bank, Texas Children's Hospital and Child Advocates.
