NORWALK, Conn., May 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Diageo brands were recognized across the board for their exceptional quality at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, winning a grand total of 66 awards, more than a third of which were Gold or Double Gold.
Diageo brands continued to triumph, earning a total of 42 medals in the Whisk(e)y category, including eight Double Gold medals across its blended, grain and malt liquids, recognizing brands such as Buchanan's, Johnnie Walker, Lagavulin, Mortlach, Talisker and The Singleton of Glendullan – to name a few. Buchanan's Special Reserve, Johnnie Walker Green Label and Lagavulin 16 Year Old also topped their respective categories, earning "Best in Class" claims. Roe & Co. Blended Irish Whiskey, Gordon's London Dry Gin, Smirnoff No. 21 Unflavored Vodka and Tanqueray No. Ten Gin also secured top honors.
