Canadian Pacific supports World Indigenous Nations Games with $50,000 sponsorship

CALGARY, July 5, 2017 /CNW/ - Canadian Pacific (CP) announced today its sponsorship of the 2017 World Indigenous Nations Games for $50,000. The event, which takes place July 2-9 in the Edmonton area, celebrates games, arts, sports and Indigenous People from around the world.

"Canada is a nation blessed with the unique and beautiful traditions of Indigenous Peoples from coast-to-coast-to-coast, and CP is pleased to sponsor this celebration in Treaty 6 territory," said Keith Creel, CP's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We continue to build strong relationships with Indigenous Peoples across our network and look forward to seeing our neighbours represent Canada as they host this international event."

More than 400 athletes from 29 different countries are expected to participate in the event.

"As we celebrate cultural diversity, I would like to thank CP for their financial contribution and their staff for the support towards making the 2nd World Indigenous Nations Games a success," said Grand Chief Dr. J.
