Aviat Networks to Showcase IP/MPLS, SDN Capabilities at AfricaCom

MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 10, 2016

Aviat will showcase three new capabilities at the event including:

1. IP/MPLS microwave router with adaptive media awareness (AMA). AMA enables head-end routers to make real-time routing decisions based on dynamic bandwidth availability in the microwave network to improve overall network performance and reliability
   
2. AviatCloud MANAGE Advanced. MANAGE Advanced is a private cloud or premises-based application for service management of end-to-end IP/MPLS networks. Now generally available, the first release of this application is designed to simplify complexity of IP/MPLS and will be on display for the first time at the event
   
3. AviatCloud Energy Application. This demonstration showcases AviatCloud energy management application, which monitors and controls energy consumption of microwave transport network using an SDN-based control layer to reduce overall energy costs

In addition, on Nov. 15, Aviat's Chief Product Officer, Ola Gustafsson, will deliver an address on Aviat's vision for migration to SDN in 5G backhaul networks at the LTE Africa co-located conference.
