SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW), the leading expert in microwave networking solutions, today announced it has been awarded a turnkey project to supply an IP/MPLS Microwave Solution for a Government Network in Latin America.

Aviat's solution results in a multi-agency private data network that allows police, security personnel and correctional facilities to share information more easily, quickly and reliably. This network will support video surveillance, mobile communications, data traffic and other mission-critical applications used by government employees and first responders.

Supporting full IP/MPLS-based VPN services, CTR microwave routers enable the government to deliver seamless inter-agency communications and because CTR combines all the functionality of a microwave radio and router in a single device, these services are delivered with fewer boxes to buy, deploy and maintain resulting in a simpler overall solution.

To achieve further simplification for the customer, Aviat will deliver design, engineering and deployment services.

"Aviat has a highly differentiated offering for public safety networks globally," states Michael Pangia, president and CEO, Aviat Networks. "This win further validates the value of an integrated IP/MPLS microwave router as the simplest solution for government networks that need to service multiple agencies over a converged infrastructure."
