Amsterdam, 28 July 2017 - Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the leading global Design & Consultancy firm for natural and built assets, today announced that it has won a contract to perform project management and construction management (PM/CM) for the new terminal and pier at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Arcadis will deliver the project in a joint venture with UK-based Mace. The contract value for Arcadis will amount to EUR 20 million with the work expected to continue through the year 2023.

The expansion of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport seeks to accommodate the ongoing growth in airline travel in the Netherlands and increased transfer traffic. The new terminal will connect to the existing terminal structures, allowing Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to maintain its competitive one terminal concept, which allows for short transfer times between flights. This win builds on Arcadis' expertise in aviation, with previous experience drawn from international projects including Sao Paulo, Lima, Abu Dhabi, Dublin, Changi, Hong Kong, Marseilles, as well as a number of UK airports. Arcadis has performed similar work around terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport in London, while the company is currently working on the £1 billion Manchester Airport Transformation Program.

"I am pleased we are able to play a role in improving the quality and capacity of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to enhance the traveler experience," said Arcadis CEO Peter Oosterveer. "Our ability to draw on global capabilities to offer truly integrated solutions once again proves that our global strategy helps us in winning new business for the firm. Our regional knowledge and local expertise and the fact that we know Amsterdam Schiphol Airport well from other projects that we have performed on or around the airport, makes Arcadis ideally suited for this exciting project."
