Jerry Braxton, CFO of LHS Group to Retire
ATLANTA/FRANKFURT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 1999--
LHS appoints Peter Chambers as successor
LHS Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LHSG)(Neuer Markt: LHI) today announced that Jerry Braxton, Executive Vice President and CFO, who helped build the company in three years from a 20 million dollar operation to its current size, will retire effective the end of the year. He will continue to serve on the Board of Directors.
Peter Chambers will assume the role of Executive Vice President and CFO, effective September 7, 1999. To ensure a smooth handover of his duties, Jerry Braxton will continue to work parallel with Peter Chambers during the transition period.
"My tenure with LHS has been a very satisfying and enjoyable experience and I am thankful to have been part of LHS' success story," said Jerry Braxton, who has been LHS' CFO since 1996. "I am looking forward to a more relaxed lifestyle, whereby I can spend more time with my aged parents, my daughter and my beautiful granddaughter. Peter Chambers joins LHS from PT Excelcomindo, an Indonesian wireless service provider owned by an international consortium, which includes Bell Atlantic and Rajawali Corporation. As Vice President and Director of Finance he was responsible for finance, planning, strategy, corporate governance and administration. Mr. Chambers also served on the Board of Excelcomindo as Director of Strategy and Finance. Prior to joining PT Exelcomindo, Mr. Chambers was with Coopers & Lybrand Consulting for six years, most recently as Executive Director in charge of the Telecommunications Practice - East Asia. Among his key clients were Telstra, Hong Kong Telecom, US West and AT&T. He joined Coopers & Lybrand from KPMG where he specialized in finance and the telecommunications industry. Mr. Chambers holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, and is a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent).
