'ITS in 2008': Special Megasession Features Wireless, Internet Role in Future Transportation; Transportation Secretary Slater Set To Join Panel
WASHINGTON, Apr 27, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Four leaders from the intelligent
transportation industry will be joined by federal transportation secretary
Rodney Slater to share visions of how the Internet and wireless technology will
affect the way Americans travel in the year 2008, in a new "megasession" at the
Tenth Annual Meeting of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS
America) in Boston May 3.
Featured panelists at this newly scheduled event are Don Vendetti, director of
product development, AT&T, Gerald Conover, manager, external product and
technology assessment, Ford Motor Company. and Gonzalo Bustillos, director,
automotive business development, Microsoft Corp. and Richard Mudge, president,
Compass Services Division, U.S. Wireless. Secretary Slater is the cabinet member
who directs the federal $40+ billion dollar annual transportation program.
The "megasession" is a new style program for ITS America that crosses many
disciplines within the ITS industry - guaranteeing a large turnout of the more
than 3,000 ITS industry leaders expected at the four-day Tenth Annual Meeting of
ITS America. The session is set from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Room 210 of the
