ValiCert and Trintech Partner to Provide Secure eCommerce Solutions for eMerchants and eBusinesses
ValiCert to Provide Merchant Validation and Trust Service for Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer eCommerce Based On Trintech's PayWare eIssuer Technology
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2000-- Trintech Group PLC (Nasdaq:TTPA - news; Neuer Markt:TTP), a leading provider of secure electronic payment infrastructure solutions, today announced an agreement with ValiCert Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end secure infrastructure solutions for eTransactions, to provide business-to-business eCommerce companies with enhanced merchant validation services. The solution combines Trintech's PayWare eIssuer technology with ValiCert's Global Validation Authority (VA) Service to verify eMerchants and improve security in conducting eCommerce transactions.
The licensing agreement enables ValiCert to build merchant credit card validation capabilities into its Global Validation Authority service. The PayWare eIssuer technology allows ValiCert to validate whether or not an eMerchant can accept credit card transactions. It also allows other trust entities to further certify that each component of an Internet transaction is valid. The technology will benefit both consumers and financial institutions by enabling merchant transactions on the Internet to be processed in a more secure fashion.
``The business of securing the Internet is one that demands a `best of breed' approach to technological innovation,'' says John McGuire, CEO of Trintech. ``By leveraging the inherent strengths of our PayWare eIssuer solution with ValiCert's Validation Authority technology, we can provide the industry with the highest level validation of eMerchants. We are excited about this agreement and feel it represents a major step forward for truly secure business-to-business and business-to-consumer eCommerce.''
``By leveraging Trintech's PayWare eIssuer technology, we are able to significantly enhance the features of our merchant validation service,'' says Yosi Amram, president and CEO of ValiCert. ``By working closely with leading vendors like Trintech, we can improve the shopping experience for consumers and greatly enhance the overall security of eCommerce for merchants and transaction processors.''
