LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 2000--Sonic Solutions (NASDAQ:SNIC) announced today at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention (NAB) that DVD Creator was named the "Best DVD Authoring System" by the readers of Post Magazine, one of the leading publications for professional post and multimedia professionals. Sonic received the honor at the Ninth Annual Post Award ceremony held during this year's NAB Convention.
"For the second consecutive year, the readers of Post magazine have selected Sonic DVD Creator (Version 1.5.3) as the 'Best New or Newly-upgraded System'," said Randi Altman, Editor-in-Chief of Post Magazine. "We're pleased to sponsor the Post Awards that give our readers the opportunity to vote on the equipment they use every day."
In addition to the Post Award, Sonic was also honored with awards from Film & Video and AV Video Multimedia Producer magazines. Sonic received the Users' Choice Award from Film & Video magazine in two categories: "Most Important Purchase of 1999" for the Top Manufacturer, and "Top Products" for SonicStudio HD.
"Our readers have decided which products are the best the industry has to offer, and for DVD authoring and audio systems, their choice was clear in their vote for Sonic DVD Creator and SonicStudio HD," said Peter Caranicas, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Film & Video.
The AV Video Platinum Award for Innovation in Technology also went to Sonic Solutions, for DVD Creator (Version 1.5), demonstrating once again users' strong support for Sonic products.
"It's only natural that Sonic should win recognition from these three important publications," said David Anthony, President of Metropolis DVD. "As a long-time user of Sonic products, I know firsthand the exceptional quality and performance they deliver."
