BSCS Migrations Completed for Eight Operators in Europe and Africa
Total of over 2 million subscribers served by new version of BSCS
ATLANTA/FRANKFURT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1999-- LHS Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LHSG - news; Neuer Markt: LHI) announced today that eight operators in Europe and Africa have successfully completed migration from their existing versions of LHS' customer care and billing software, BSCS, to a newer release of BSCS. The migrations were for a combined total of over 2 million subscribers. LHS' global partners Cap Gemini, Logica, and Alcatel acted individually as the system integrators for six of the operators.

The eight operators who have successfully upgraded their client/server-based solution are: MaxMobil, GSM operator, Austria, 750,000 subscribers; Mobistar, convergent operator, Belgium, 250,000 subscribers (joint project with Cap Gemini); Mobilix, convergent operator, Denmark, 200,000 subscribers (joint project with Cap Gemini); RDM, GSM operator, Czech Republic, 300,000 subscribers, joint project with Logica; MobiNil; GSM operator, Egypt, 450,000 subscribers (joint project with Alcatel); 9 Telekom, ISDN operator and Internet Service Provider, France, 100,000 subscribers (joint project with Cap Gemini); MTC, GSM operator, Namibia, 30,000 subscribers; and Mobitel; GSM operator, Slovenia, 170,000 subscribers (joint project with Cap Gemini).

``The high number of successful migrations in the EMEA region proves that BSCS customers follow the LHS product approach and project path to newer versions,'' stated Wolfgang Kroh, LHS senior vice president, sales and integrations Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). ``Our customer loyalty is based on BSCS' excellent record in responding and adapting to the needs of this rapidly changing and emerging market. Because of its extended wireless, wireline and convergent billing features, BSCS is a well-rounded system that supports a broad number of services, a perfect answer for the diverse needs of these customers. The EMEA operators' choice to migrate to new versions, mostly to the latest BSCS release reinforces LHS' leadership in the EMEA wireless and wireline migration markets.''
