U.S. stock index futures fall sharply early
Jan 28 - U.S. stock index futures fell sharply early, pared losses and then eased again in volatile trade. Pressure stemmed from concerns that the Federal Reserve will move more aggressively to tighten credit after stronger than expected U.S. economic data. The Q4 employment cost index rose 1.1 pct comparec to forecasts for a 0.9 percent rise, while Q4 GDP grew by 5.8 pct versus expectations for a 5.3 pct rate. March S&Ps broke several support levels on the early decline. Further support is near 1387. March fair value premium is at 9.45 points, with buy programs likely near 11.50 points over and sell at 7.30 points or less.
